Umutomboko Ceremony
Umutomboko is the traditional ceremony of the Lunda and Luba speaking people, it takes place in Luapula province of Zambia at Mwansabombwe village between Mwense town and Lake Mweru. It is a two-day ceremony which celebrates the advent of the Lunda and Luba speaking people to Zambia from Kola in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The umutomboko traditional ceremony takes place in the last weekend of July every year. Umutomboko means “a dance of victory”.
